The development of numerical controls: from alarm systems to SIAX XPC

The first realizations, in the second half of the 80s, concerned alarm systems and dedicated numerical controls in which the creation of dedicated firmware for the customers was developed from time to time.

In a short time SIPRO materialized its natural predisposition to develop Numerical Controls and electronic instruments with advanced performances, always having as objective the movement control, soon addressed to the generalized manufacturing industry.

10 years after its foundation, in 1994, SIPRO produced the SIAX 300 Compact, a compact numerical control solution with integrated PLC management with on-board expansion devices: which meant the management of the motion control but also the integrated management of the peripheral machinery. With this step forward, this technology has seen its use in sectors such as marble, glass and packaging, increasing the innovation and the number of the new applications.

The early 2000s saw a further important progress for SIPRO, the introduction of fieldbuses, from the first Can-Bus to the subsequent standard DS402 Can-Open, capable of managing digital and analog inputs and outputs in addition to the control of brushless drives.

It was a fundamental moment in the development of the SIPRO offer, in order to ensure technologically advanced solutions, the introduction of the Ethercat management.

In 2006,the SIAX M32 multi-axis numerical control has been introduced to the market: it is a product which, thanks to the latest generation processors and with a completely revised interpolator management, has allowed the creation of more performing and faster machines with an increased number of managed axes. In addition to this, a standard PLC IEC61131 has been developed.

Starting by this moment it has been a continuous release of new advanced numerical controls (SIAX M8, SIAX A100) and advanced human interfaces in which compactness and technology have been combined, reaching the management of these devices on the Android operating system.

The last SIPRO’s numerical control in terms of time and technology is based on PC architecture with REAL TIME Windows 64 bit system: the SIAX XPC. A system able to manage up to 256 axes and an important number of channels and interpolated groups.

SIAX XPC is characterized by remarkable speed and performances, is equipped with all standard communication protocols (Ethercat, Modbus, TCP, OPC-UA just to mention the main ones) and maintains programming software compatibility with previous systems.

Delta Robot: from a prototype to a full range of products

The synergy and collaboration with the academic environment have kept alive the desire to experiment and innovate by looking to the future with interest and curiosity. It is with this attitude that SIPRO has managed to create the Delta Robot.

The first prototype dates back to 2010, who was the base of the actual catalog; versatile solutions that respond to different needs by thinking about the differences of the demand without omit speed and performance.

The interest that has driven SIPRO from the beginning, continues to stimulate the company in the improvement of the technology at the service of the customer, as a concrete response to the needs of the market.
